The Vice President of Sales for Walmart & Sam’s Club is accountable for collaborating with many levels of the customer and internal cross-functional partners to deliver quality growth for our customers across brick & mortar and e-commerce platforms.

 

This role is expected to be agile and future focused in developing and implementing strategic plans to ensure the segment delivers yearly and long-term objectives for growth and value creation. This includes providing customer focused omni strategies into the operating plan and role-modeling Mars Five Principles for Walmart & Sam’s and broader Mars organization. 


This position also has responsibility for leading the Mars Wrigley Bentonville, AR Site, with accountability for Associate safety, engagement, community involvement, and further developing Mars’s reputation as the best place in Northwest Arkansas to work.


The Vice President of Sales for Walmart & Sam’s Club will lead a team of direct/indirect reports and Site Associates in Arkansas. Also, this position is responsible for several dotted line relationships with cross-functional Associates. This role reports to President of Sales for the US region.

 

*** Qualified candidates must currently live in Northwest Arkansas or be willing to relocate to the Bentonville, AR area. Relocation assistance is provided for this role. ***

 

What Are We Looking For?

•    Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in Business Management 
•    Walmart experience/knowledge preferred
•    A minimum of 10-15+ years’ experience of progressive sales management responsibilities within a consumer products company 
•    Quantifiable success developing strong relationships both internally (cross-functionally) and externally with big box retailers 
•    Track record of success and accountability at the strategic level   
•    Must have clear understanding of CPG industry
•    Must possess excellent people skills when dealing with both external and internal customers 
•    Ability to work in an entrepreneurial, team-oriented, and fast-paced culture 
•    Ability to travel a minimum of 25% of the time

 

What Would Be Your Key Responsibilities?
•    Develop, lead, and translate the strategic Sales direction into go-to-market strategy and action plans to achieve goals of increased sales growth and profit 
•    Shape the Customer and Channel strategy and drive action through the business across all functions
•    Build a growth-oriented business team to be proficient in all key business areas of end-to-end business planning and execution, to include: Sales, Marketing, Operations, Supply, R&D, and Finance.
•    Partner with cross-functional peers and executive management team on business strategies and customer action plans 
•    Build robust development and talent pipeline and succession plans for Walmart Inc. and US Sales team.
•    Recruit, mentor, motivate and retain highly skilled professionals to deliver quality products and services to drive business growth and profitability 
•    Business savvy and current on industry trends, market changes, vendor and customers, trade shows and research of new technology 
•    Direct budget responsibility and focus on balancing company and Channels customers profitable growth objectives and actions so every customer and company solution are mutually beneficial 
•    Role model great line management for Sales, ensuring all associates are provided with clear and consistent business objectives and development plans, and the development of high associate engagement and performance management when needed.
•    Deploy resources wisely, timely and creatively 
•    Develop and implement strategic sales plan delivering on Channel and Organization growth objectives
•    Live the Five Principles and communicate our expected business environment to all associates
