Job Description

Key Roles & Responsibilities:

  • Read daily events, to acknowledge any VIP’s arrivals.
  • Handles reservations and blocks covers accordingly.
  • Must know all menu items, their garnishes, contents and preparation methods and be able to relay that information to guests in a polite and concise way if asked
  • Present children's menus when appropriate, and describe specials and alternative cuisine
  • Presents menu, answers enquiries and makes suggestions regarding food, beverage and service to restaurant guests.
  • Conscientious handling of guest with special dietary needs
  • Provides smooth and efficient service at the Outlet ensuring that LQA standards are met at all times.
  • Seats, takes orders and serves food and beverage to guest according to the established LQA service sequence and procedures
  • Takes guest order and delivers items without unnecessary delay.
  • Possesses a thorough knowledge of the Outlet Menu and Wine List.
  • Up-sells the menu and induces guests to take slightly higher than medium prices items and side orders:  soup, beverage, salad, dessert, etc to increase the revenue.
  • Serve and clear food and beverage items in an unobtrusive and professional manner
  • Utilize the POS system to ring up sales, print checks, close checks and complete cash-out procedures
  • Carry trays, bus and reset tables with linen, china, glass and silver
  • Ascertain guests’ satisfaction and handle any problem which may arise, informing a manager of the problem and how it was resolved
  • Follow cash and credit card procedures according to the guidelines of the accounting department
  • Maintain a clean, neat and orderly restaurant throughout service
  • Polish silver, refill salt, pepper and sugar, creamers, etc
  • Ensure that work station is stocked with appropriate condiments at all times
  • Report any guest comments regarding food and beverage to manager
  • Conscientious handling and maintenance of operating equipment
  • Learn and adhere to safety, sanitation and hygiene policies
  • Strict compliance to the company grooming standard
  • Adheres to the company & Departmental policies & procedures
  • Maintain good working relationships with colleagues, and all other departments
  • Maintain complete knowledge of all F&B services, outlets and hotel services/features
  • Perform opening/closing side duties as assigned and set all tables according to standards
  • Prepares mise-en-place according to the requirement and operation needs.
  • Clears and resets counters or tables at conclusion of each course.
  • Report to manager any kinds of deviation from set standard and procedures
  • Reports any difficulty or problem to Manager, Supervisors or Captain for solution or follow up actions.
  • Ensure that all service and storage areas are kept safe and clean
  • Help minimize waste, neglect, breakages and mishandling of supplies and equipment
  • Carry out light cleaning and maintenance of the outlet
  • Assist other Food & Beverage Outlets in their operations during peak hours if needed.
  • Ensures all food and beverage items, equipment and other facilities in the Outlet are maintained
  • Constantly strives to satisfy all guests that patronize the Outlet to achieve the highest rate for Market Matrix
  • Maintains par stocks of all equipment and guest supplies.
  • Follow up and comply with the level on the Quality of Service, Market Metrix Index, Employees Satisfaction (EES), Operating Equipment, Grooming Standard, LQA standards requirements.

Personal Attributes:

  • Excellent reading, writing and oral proficiency in English
  • Well-presented and professionally groomed at all times
  • Strong interpersonal skills and able to establish a good rapport with guests 
  • Possess full knowledge of restaurant’s seating/table plan
  • Computer knowledge (Microsoft Excel, Word, Power point) 

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Hotel Restaurant Management graduate
  • 1 year Hotel experience in F&B
