The Mt. Vernon site was established in 1972 and is the flagship site delivering innovative, life changing oral solid medicines. At the site we formulate and pack OSD tablets, capsules, powders and liquids to over 60+ markets. The Mt Vernon site is the largest AZ production site in the US and is located in the southwest corner of the state of Indiana, approximately 15 miles from Evansville, Indiana – the third largest city in the state of Indiana. The Warehouse Distribution Assistant is responsible for assisting in receiving, storing, and distributing raw materials, bulk products, and packaging components/supplies.

Training for this position will be on day-shift then after training will go to a rotation - all shifts are possible.

What you’ll do:

  • Unloads raw materials and packaging supplies from carriers’ unit, inspects vendor trailer for unacceptable conditions, inspects shipment for overage, shortage or damage and advises Materials Management Technician of any discrepancies.
  • Sorts raw material and packaging supplies by vendor lot, loading stock onto pallets. Cooperates with Receiving Laboratory Samplers in obtaining stock samples.
  • Places the raw material and packaging supplies in their assigned storage areas and fills requisitions for raw materials and packaging supplies from stock released by material number and batch number by the laboratory and inspection departments.
  • Verifies released status by computer information and hard copies of the release and delivers requisitioned materials and supplies to their proper destination.
  • Completes necessary documentation for computer data entry and takes periodic physical counts of the stock.
  • Acts as first decision maker, resolving technical issues through trouble-shooting and using existing knowledge and experience.
  • Executes manufacturing processes in compliance with GMPs, site policies, work instructions, and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
  • Immediately reports issues to Warehouse Management that have the potential to compromise product quality

Essential for the role:

Required:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Basic computer skills; experience with Microsoft Office applications and SAP is desirable and the ability to follow technical work instructions.
  • Experience in a cGMP environment is desirable.  Strong math skills and attention to detail.
  • Must be able to handle 250 lb drums from one pallet to another and unload floor loaded trailers routinely, lifting 40 lbs from overhead to floor.
  • Ability to work independently, or as part of a team-based environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to work accurately; meet schedules and timelines, and balance multiple priorities.

Preferred:

  • Experience with AstraZeneca products.
  • Knowledge of SAP and MS Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of DEA regulations beneficial.
  • Experience in a production environment and Warehouse management experience is highly desirable.
