Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: This position is responsible for being a partner in department planning and ultimately carrying out and sustaining agreed upon processes for daily departmental success. The Lead also has an obligation to convey associate concerns and requests to the supervisor in the department in which they reside. In this role, the Lead should also be prepared to support and manage the operations at any giving time. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Will have responsibility for all the warehouses at ICD – Frontera Plant. Leads thru the Whse Supervisors the team members in daily operations to ensure smooth workflow, quality production, and timely delivery. Monitor’s performance of team members and provides guidance to improve performance. Able to make analytical and problem-solving decisions without leadership guidance present on the work floor Distribute and manage the workload for the department. Ensure that the workflow is maintained in such a fashion as to minimize downtime where an associate has no work available. Be a partner in the origination and execution of agreed upon daily plans for the department Support 5S initiatives through following the practice of having everything in its place as well as helping the employees to understand the importance and value of exuding this culture Be an advocate for safety in the distribution center emulating correct lifting techniques and supporting safety initiatives. Be aware of surroundings and making everyone’s safety your responsibility. Be approachable and have the ability to interact with an employee’s citing any performance opportunities as well as successes Initiate a daily routine that consists of checks and processes to ensure that the department operates the same way day after day. Assist the employees with immediate needs around product verification Coach employees and provide appropriate training and feedback to help to the employees in the department meet their goals. Work with your supervisor to ensure that performance opportunities are addressed. Listen to employees concerns & work with your supervisor to ensure that any issues are addressed. Able to utilize console functions to review, collect and analyzed data for the purpose to engage and speak on operational progress Able to stablish strategy to maintain inventory accuracy level 98% or higher Maintain a constant flow of raw material to the production lines ensuring lines are working all the time Work with buyers and finance to stablish plans for E&O reduction Stablish procedures for all the warehouse activities (receiving, warehousing, cycle counting, kitting, issuing, backflushing, shipping) and follow up they are being one as expected. Monitor and audit all transactions are done in a timely manner. Stablish KPI’s to track all warehouse activities. FIFO & PFEP implementation Coordinate physical inventory event. Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: Required (Basic) Qualifications: Requires a BS Degree Prior experience working in a materials role Three or more years of experience working in Materials role Strong administrative skills Excellent and verbal communication skills in English and Spanish Self-motivated and able to work independently with little supervision Preferred Qualifications: Experience leading Kaizen and continuous improvement events Experience in ERP systems and Microsoft office tools Position Success Criteria: Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure parts and components are delivered on time Flex into other departments as needed to ensure customer and Eaton expectations are met Uses electrical schematics and blueprints to identify parts and components needed What you will get from us Eaton’s mission is to improve the quality of life and the environment through the use of power management technologies and services.
