Job Purpose/Overview

The purpose of this role is to provide coordination, direction, and support to the warehouse and operating teams within. This role is also intended to ensure our product is handled, stored, and shipped efficiently while meeting our high-quality standards and maintaining targeted customer service levels. Oversees a team of 16-20 direct shipping-logistics.

 

Key Responsibilities

· Drive continuous improvement activities and challenge business processes that limit the site.

· Coordinate the activities in the warehouse such as: tosh loads, scrap loads, and all trailer movements.

· Responsible for ensuring inbound and outbound shipments are loaded/unloaded on time and accurately.

· Work with operations to establish performance standards, goals, and training needs for all associates.

· Responsible for warehouse sanitation, inventory accuracy, and maintenance.

· Ensure the material inbound and outbound is continuously being inventoried, audited, and stored for maximization of space and required movement

· Responsible for coordinating the needs of the warehouse with Operations and the Flow team on a continuous basis.

· Be prepared to join and facilitate conversations on logistical concerns and improvements.

· Line manager with managing shipping operators and shipping coordinators

· Serve as the back up for the Flow Manager

 

Context and Scope

· Using tools such as Navision and ITrack as part of their daily work.

· Interfacing with plant associates, distribution centers, and trucking companies.

· This role is primarily a Monday through Friday day shift role however, after hours will be required as needed to support the business.

 

Job Specifications/Qualifications

 

Education & Professional Qualification

· Degree in Logistics or Supply Chain preferred

· Associate degree and/or 5+ years of work experience in related discipline

 

Knowledge & Experience

· Knowledge of Navision and ITrack. They must also understand of how these systems interface with each other.
