About us
We are a young school getting ready to open our new office in August! Our students are mostly teenagers and young adults, and we focus on preparing them for life abroad to study at either high school, college or university. Our classes have between one and five students, making them personal and easily manageable. Most students have at least a basic understanding of English, so knowing Mandarin is not a necessity for foreign staff. While we do have course books which we follow, teachers will also need to prepare some of their own classes as they get to know their students needs. If you haven't done this before, don't worry as we are happy to help you get started!

We are a new and growing school, and as such need a core team of passionate teachers. We currently have two full time foreign teachers and are looking at recruiting another four before August. Our goal is not just to improve our student's English skills, but to prepare them mentally for life in the West. As such, our foreign teachers have a lot of freedom with their classes to give the students a real sense of how people around the world live. We take students who are products of the Chinese education system, burnt out by years of home work and never ending tests, and make open minded individuals ready and excited to enter the world!

Requirements for foreign teachers
- University degree (any subject)
- We only accept passport holders from the US, UK, Canada, Australia, New Zealand and Ireland.
- Must be between the ages of 23 and 55
- Teaching experience is an advantage
- TESOL certified preferred
- Be willing to sign a one year contract
- Have a clean criminal record

Compensation
- Work visa, residence permit and medical check all covered
- Accommodation located within walking distance of the school
- Airport pick up
- Medical and accidental insurance
- 10 days paid annual leave plus 12 days for public holidays
- Bonus one month salary at the end of the contract
- International airfare allowance
- Free Chinese cultural activities and lessons (tea ceremonies, calligraphy etc)
- Free Mandarin lessons for those who are interested in learning the language
- Monthly traveling activities with the school (mountain trips, BBQs etc.)
- Two yearly group trips to other provinces and cities around China, all transport and accommodation will be covered by the school

Employee hours
- Class length is between 50 minutes and an hour
- Five day weeks, with between three and five lessons per day at 100RMB a lesson
- Overtime for weekend work at 120RMB per lesson
- Base salary of 1000RMB a month to cover living expenses + class hours will earn an average of 7600RMB per month, which can increase up to around 12000RMB depending on class hours. This is very high for Baoji and saving money should not be a problem. For example, lunch will cost around $3 and a taxi ride across the city shouldn't be more than four or five. The average wage for foreigners in the city is around 6000RMB, and for the locals between 2500 and 3000.
