We are currently recruiting a multilingual Web Editor to work in our China office, with proficient Mandarin and English language skills. The successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining several Chinese language digital platforms and updating content across a suite of websites.
Knowledge of digital marketing, using content management systems and translation is essential. Previous Sitecore experience is not required as full training will be given, however a working knowledge of one or more CMS platforms would be beneficial.
Key responsibilities
- To support delivery of Chinese language content that attracts international students to Study Group’s higher education global brands in the UK, USA, Canada, Australia and New Zealand
- Populate and manage optimised website content for Study Group’s global brands, following localised SEO, UX and device-specific best practice
- Write and optimise image titles, alt tags and page meta descriptions, working with SEO teams
- Work closely with colleagues in Marketing and Digital Marketing to execute Chinese content strategy
- Translate content from English to Simplified Chinese and deploy across digital channels
- Interpret a wide range of product information and distil the key facts needed to create copy that is easy to understand for Chinese audiences
- Work to precise partner brand guidelines, on a variety of projects, simultaneously
- Manage team inbox and prioritising requests
- Work with translation agencies to ensure content supplied is compliant, on-brand, and will resonate with our audience
- Optimise and upload images to websites
- Communicating with internal and external stakeholders, agencies and colleagues to ensure accuracy and visibility of projects.
Required skills:
- Proficient language skills to native level – written and spoken
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to build stakeholder relationships and work collaboratively across global locations
- Problem solving abilities, willingness to learn by asking questions and strong sense of initiative
- Highly computer literate, with proficient skills in Microsoft Office and Photoshop, plus basic HMTL capabilities
- One to two years’ experience in a content, marketing or digital role
- An understanding of the education sector
- Excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, and ability to balance a varied workload
- Experience using content management systems and image libraries
- An understanding of SEO principles
- A keen eye for detail and methodical approach to work
- An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline.
- Experience working with multilingual content
- Experience working within an international environment
- Experience within the higher education sector
- Understanding of compliance and laws governing Chinese content.
