WebSphere Commerce – Senior Technical Consultant (Development)

Responsibilities:

• Participate in all aspects of the software development lifecycle which includes technical design, implementation, documentation, testing, deployment and support of eCommerce solution for our clients. This includes but not limited to eCommerce web site, mobile eCommerce sites, as well as custom mobile applications.
• Projects primarily involve customization of the eCommerce framework on the IBM WebSphere Commerce platform. In addition, will incorporate the latest technologies to deliver on client requirements.
• Work in a team environment with solution architects and developers on interpretation/translation of wireframes and creative designs into functional requirements, and subsequently into technical design.
• Work with business analysts to fully understand business requirements.

• Involve in front-end and server-side development of robust, high-volume eCommerce systems, as well as be able to develop prototypes quickly.
• Ability to conceptualize and transform web site design in Adobe Photoshop to templates with JSP and CSS.
• Prepares and executes unit test plans with test data and scripts.

Required Skills and Experience:

• Strong experience (i.e., 5+ years) in Java/J2EE development, object oriented design and programming
• Strong in JSPs, Servlets, JDBC, JNDI, ANT, and JSTL
• Strong experience in user interface design and web development with JavaScript, jQuery, HTML, CSS and Ajax
• Experience with Struts and Spring application frameworks
• Strong database development with SQL, solid understanding of relational database technologies preferably with DB2, and data modeling
• Experience with application servers such as WebSphere, JBoss and Weblogic in relation to packaging and deploying Java applications
• Experience in development and deployment in a multi-tiered and multi-server application architecture
• Experience with XML, SOAP and REST based web service development
• Experience with development tools such as Eclipse
• Experience with source code version control systems such as CVS and Subversion
• Experience with build and deployment using Apache Ant
• Strong experience with both SDLC and Agile development methodologies
• Knowledge with graphic, multimedia and web design software such as Adobe Photoshop is desirable
• Knowledge in iterative and parallel development model is desirable
• Experience with WebSphere Commerce development is preferred
• Certifications in Java, WebSphere Commerce, WebSphere Application Server and DB2 are a plus
