Job Description
PRIMARY FUNCTION: Provide support to the subject matter experts in where technical direction and assistance for new and existing products, including process design, facility layout, capital equipment, and tooling requirements manufacturing operations. Responsible for joining manufacturing processes including equipment specification, tooling design, gauging, quality, and efficiency under the subject matter direction and approval. Collect and analyze manufacturing data and implement process improvements that improve safety, product quality, customer delivery, and cost reductions. Provide on-floor process information for training and meeting engineering standards. Support special process and customer audits. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Support on-time delivery of customer orders through the manufacturing process, including troubleshooting machine and tooling problems, supporting the DMR process, and implementing continuous flow concepts. Define equipment specifications, design processes and associated tooling. Work with suppliers and purchasing to procure equipment, tooling, and supplies as required. Document process design and improvement via PFMEAs, routers, work instructions, equipment PMs, technique sheets, and equipment programs to ensure safety, quality, and cost targets are achieved. Recommend and implement changes in products and processes to improve manufacturability and profitability (cost out), including functional review of drawings and Engineering specifications (Manufacturing and Product). Mentor and train welders & technicians, in the implementation of projects and joining systems, in order to build an inclusive culture and processes that meet the needs of all employees and customers. Collect and analyze manufacturing data and metrics to aid in design and improvement of processes. Develop standard work instructions and training material. Deliver theoretical training to employees via the TJ Welding University. Provide technical support to manufacturing team within the assigned area of focus including benchmarking of best practices. Support on NADCAP and special process pre-audit, Accreditation Process and Customer Audits. Qualifications SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE: 1 to 2 years of experience in a similar position Bilingual English/ Spanish Medium technical knowledge of welded joint design and processing Experience with AWS D17.1 Specification for Fusion Welding of Aerospace Applications Demonstrated experience in project and time management, organizational, and analytical skills. Good communication skills Computer Skills (MS Office) Project Management skills Understanding of problem-solving methods (Six Sigma, 8D, root cause analysis) Knowledge of industry and customer specific quality registration requirements and certification processes (NADCAP, ISO9001, AS9100, AWS, customer requirements) Knowledge of process auditing techniques to ensure compliance to defined quality requirements Detail Oriented Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization including the High-Performance Work Team (production associates and salaried support peers) and the Plant Leadership Team Demonstrated leadership of Lean/Continuous Improvement/Six Sigma projects Experience with tube assembly manufacturing processes Experience with NADCAP requirements and audit process #LI-MG1 What you will get from us Eaton’s mission is to improve the quality of life and the environment through the use of power management technologies and services.
