Eaton’s Power Components Division is currently seeking a Welding Engineer to join our team. This position is located at our Moon Township, PA (Greater Pittsburg, PA) facility and offers a hybrid (3 days office/2 days remote) schedule. Relocation is also provided! Position Overview: The Welding Engineer is the primary subject matter expert for welding operations within the Power Components Division. This role will guide and direct engineering and production in welding-related activities, deploy new technologies, develop tools and processes, assess materials and part designs, and build organizational capabilities in welding. Expertise includes welding materials and processes, including resistance brazing, induction brazing, furnace brazing, spot welding, laser welding, and ultrasonic welding. In this function you will: Design and industrialize welding and automation processes, fixtures, and equipment for NPD. Drive optimization of new and existing welding processes and procedures. Develop set-up procedures and process verification testing for welding operations. Create and deploy welding Standard Work and training across the organization. Develop and mentor plant Welding leads. Identify resource and equipment gaps. Lead business case development for new welding equipment and improvement projects. Drive application of innovative material and process technologies. Develop and execute welding-related capital and expense budgets. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an accredited institution Three (3) years of Welding experience, including welding process development and optimization Experience in Welding fixture design and development (production and test) Experience and/or expertise in materials, tools, machines, and approaches for different welding technologies, including resistance brazing, induction brazing, furnace brazing Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the future Preferred Qualifications: Welding degree or certification Material Science or Metallurgy experience Five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment Six Sigma Certification Experience in New Product Development Experience in project planning Experience driving Continuous Improvement Automation experience Spot welding, laser welding, ultrasonic expertise Why work at Eaton?
