This is a Co-Op position which requires three alternating rotations (e. g. 1st rotation: Spring, 2nd rotation: Fall, 3rd rotation: Summer).

The main objectives for this term revolve around assisting the Body Shop with the daily operations of managing Welding initiatives and driving continual improvement of Welding related topics within the Body Shop. 

The qualified co-op should expect to contribute & improve in the following functions:

• This will be a developmental role where the student will spend a large portion of their time learning how to work within BMW's various Weld Systems to support continuous improvement projects related to Welding.
• Working on Weld Curves and development of weld Quality.
• Stud Welding and the development of Stud Weld Quality
• Projects surrounding innovations of equipment and tools used in Welding.

• Welding Engineering background
• Basic Electrical trouble shooting skill
• Knowledge of Various Welding Technologies
• MS Office skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc).
• Problem Solving skills
• Ability to train others
• Project leadership skills
• Possess a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.0 (not just in major).
• Have full-time status at an accredited four-year college or university in the United States.
• Completed at least 30 credit hours at time of application.
• Ability to complete 3 alternating work terms for Co-op positions. 
• Ability to work full-time (40 hours / week).
• Transfer students must have a GPA from current university.
• Must Attach an unofficial transcript upon applying 
• Complete and pass a substance abuse test before the work term. 
• The work term dates for this position are January 3 2022 through May 6 2022
