This position will be located in our Sylmar, CA office.

SUMMARY OF THE ROLE

Assists engineers by performing a variety of routine to moderately complex technical functions involved in the welding equipment,  repair and modification of developmental and production welding systems, parts and components. Supports the manufacturing floor by maintaining laser welders, resistance welders and hermetic welders by performing a variety of routine to moderately complex technical functions to maintain equipment in production state. Takes initiative to ensure work is done accurately and completely. Applies existing work methods to different known situations. Problems involve recurring, routine situations; usually refers more complex problems to supervisor or more senior level personnel.


WHAT YOU’LL DO 

  • Support manufacturing floor for welding equipment preventative maintenance and uptime required for production

  • Work with operations, engineering, and vendors to maintain spare part lists to avoid any downtime.

  • Troubleshoots and diagnoses the cause of electrical or mechanical malfunction or failure of  welding equipment, production items, assemblies, sub-assemblies, and systems. Determines remedies for malfunctions, and repairs products using established procedures. Troubleshoots test failures, field returns and retrofits.

  • May set-up/utilize special test equipment.

  • Notifies supervisor of the need to replenish supplies/materials and of any production difficulties that cannot be readily corrected.

  • Support all Company initiatives as identified by management and in support of Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management Systems (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.

  • Complies with U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations, other regulatory requirements, Company policies, operating procedures, processes, and task assignments. Maintains positive and cooperative communications and collaboration with all levels of employees, customers, contractors, and vendors.

 EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING 

Education

High School Diploma / GED OR an equivalent combination of education and work experience

Experience/Background

Minimum 4 years

  • In electronics, electro-mechanical disciplines or related technology.

  • Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of all aspects of the job, including common inspection and electronic testing methods.

  • Demonstrated ability to use frequently used hand tools.

  • Demonstrated ability to read and understand engineering drawings, schematics, diagrams, notes, and layouts.

  • Experience working in a broader enterprise/cross-division business unit model preferred.

  • Ability to work in a highly matrixed and geographically diverse business environment.

  • Ability to work within a team and as an individual contributor in a fast-paced, changing environment.

  • Ability to leverage and/or engage others to accomplish projects.

  • Strong verbal and written communications with ability to effectively communicate at multiple levels in the organization.

  • Multitasks, prioritizes and meets deadlines in timely manner.

  • Strong organizational and follow-up skills, as well as attention to detail.

  • Ability to travel approximately 5%.

  • Ability to maintain regular and predictable attendance.

  • Occasional overtime is a requirement of this position.
