Eaton’s Electrical Division is currently seeking a Welding & Brazing Specialist to join our team. This is a remote based position that will require travel to Eaton’s electrical manufacturing sites. Position Overview: Our Welding & Brazing Specialist will lead strategic programs and productivity improvements as a subject matter expert (SME) in Welding & Brazing processes used in Eaton’s Electrical America manufacturing. This will be accomplished through world class manufacturing gap identification, leading manufacturing councils, overseeing process performance metrics and actions and developing 5-year strategies. In this function you will: Lead and mentor the 40+ manufacturing sites on world class manufacturing & productivity improvement Be the subject matter expert (SME) for welding & brazing processes. Utilize strong industrial and manufacturing engineering skills, along with lean tools, to drive productivity improvements. Implement improvements to existing manufacturing operations Utilization of strong problem-solving tools to resolve existing mfg. challenge and coordinates best practices between multiple facilities Presenting key initiative updates to the leadership team Manage capital and expense spending for assigned projects Prepare financial justification for projects in support of CAR analysis. Qualifications Required (Basic) Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree from accredited institution Five (5) years of Manufacturing experience, in a welding/brazing environment Prior experience with spot-welding of both ferrous and non-ferrous metals, spot-brazing of non-ferrous metals, furnace-brazing of ferrous and non-ferrous metals, ferrous TIG & MIG welding Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now or within the future Preferred qualifications: Bachelor's degree in engineering Lean Manufacturing experience AutoCad capabilities Fluent in Spanish a plus Ability and willingness to travel 25% of the time Ability to design manufacturing welding & brazing processes for maximum efficiency Be located in a region with close proximity to Eaton electrical manufacturing locations such as North or South Carolina, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania or Texas Position Criteria: Must be passionate about continuous improvement and be willing to be trained in lean tools.
