The opportunity:

As the Wellbeing, Health and Safety Business Partner reporting into the Head of P&C Business Partnering & Talent, you will work with and influence AIA New Zealanders leaders and relevant Committees to ensure our wellbeing, health and safety strategy and work programme delivers on AIA’s purpose and enables our people to thrive.

About the role:

With a focus on employee wellbeing, and expertise in health and safety, you will be responsible for the delivery and implementation of the work programme to be embed and develop a sustained culture of wellbeing, health and safety across the organisation by:

  • Working alongside leaders, the Wellbeing Committee, Health and Safety Committee, Health & Safety Representatives and other key stakeholders, to develop, deliver and drive strategies, policies and standards across the organisation.

  • Supporting the development and lead the delivery of AIA NZs wellbeing, health & safety and wellbeing strategy and underlying frameworks.

  • Maintaining expert knowledge and contributing to strategic recommendations for improved wellbeing, health & safety processes and initiatives.

  • Identifying learning needs, developing and delivering relevant programmes which support our leaders and employees to understand and fulfil their responsibilities with confidence and success.

  • Coaching and mentoring others to share and build wellbeing, health and safety capability within AIA NZ.

  • Providing expert advice to the People and Culture team on how best to support senior leaders and managers and the overall organisation on management and resolution of employee medical cases. Provide specialist management and oversight of individual medical case management. 

  • Establishing and delivering standard reporting and insights across AIA NZ and implementing systems and processes that effectively capture and use data to deliver continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Working alongside Risk to develop, deliver and maintain tools and resources to identify risks, in alignment with the wellbeing, health & safety frameworks. Keeping stakeholders informed of any risks and/or issues that may impact on organisational operations and reputation.

About you:

To be successful in this role, you will have a passion for wellbeing, health and safety and share our commitment to ensuring we are doing the right thing, in the right way with the right people.

  • Formal qualification in Health, Safety and Wellbeing (or related discipline) and relevant experience is essential

  • Expert knowledge of relevant legislation including the Health and Safety at Work Act 2015

  • A pragmatic approach to Health and Safety within the context of AIA NZ

  • Demonstrated experience in the development of workplace wellbeing programmes that drive employee engagement

  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing health and safety strategies, plans and programmes to ensure efficient service delivery with a focus on quality and risk management.
