Job Description

YOUR TASKS AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The primary responsibilities of this role, Western Cornbelt Water Utilization Co-op, are to: 

  • Work collaboratively within the North American Field Testing and Operations organization to help build and define a limited water testing network;
  • Work independently with team members on project specific activities;
  • Assist team in executing seasonal work priorities;
  • Operate field and lab research equipment, including proprietary technology;
  • Collect and analyze data;
  • Participate in on and off-site professional development activities and community engagement projects.

Required Qualifications:

 

  • Current enrollment at an accredited university located in the U.S. pursuing a Bachelor’s in agronomy, genetics, plant breeding or other ag related discipline;
  • Academic standing of Junior or Senior. First year Masters students or undergrads who will graduate in May of 2020 with plans to attend graduate school upon completion of this assignment are also eligible;
  • Availability to take the fall semester off to work in a full-time capacity in Nebraska;
  • Must have a valid drivers license and personal transportation;
  • Ability to work effectively with interdisciplinary teams;
  • Detailed and results oriented with ability to work independently;
  • Must demonstrate very strong verbal and written communication skills;

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong background in water and conservation management—understanding policy, limitations, and sustainable water conservation practices.
