Job Description

A number of shelters will be opened for providing accommodation arrangement for vulnerable groups including unaccompanied minors, children in need of residential placement, victims of gender-based violence, and persons with mental and/or physical illness, and invite applications for the post:

Duties:
(a) Plan the meals menu, daily preparation of nutritious meals and snacks served to service users. (b) Ensure food is stored and handled properly. (c) Conduct housekeeping tasks necessary to maintain the kitchen in an organized, clean, safe and hygienic condition at all times. (d) Regular inventory of kitchen equipment and supplies. (e) Responsible for purchasing groceries and daily food and necessities and keeping records of those accounts. (f) Perform janitorial tasks such as vacuuming, mopping, dusting, cleaning windows and restrooms and other cleaning duties such as gather and empty daily trash and cleaning furniture and centre equipment.

Requirements: (a) Completed Form 3 education level or equivalent. (b) Relevant work experience, preferably in a child care centre setting. (c) Fair command of spoken English. (d) Good communication and interpersonal skills. (e) Ability to relate well with service users and be patient with them. (f) Willing to work in shift duty, weekend and holiday shifts.

Other requirements: Good command of oral and written English; fluency in at least one minority language and/or ability to communicate in Chinese is a distinct advantage; computer literate; experience working in a cross-cultural working environment; have a valid work visa and flexibility to work in Kowloon and New Territories Regions.
