As Writer and Editor on the Shanghai Communications team, this individual works across a variety of daily Chinese social media content, communications, and special projects in support of SOM’s firmwide and China Practice communications, marketing and business development strategies. The Writer and Editor produces clear, effective copy that reflects a deep understanding of SOM’s ethos, approach, and values and the firm’s audiences.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, communications, marketing or related field

• Three plus years’ experience

• Knowledge of AEC industry and the digital media landscape in China

Summary:

• Write and edit content for SOM’s external Chinese communications channels, including social media platforms, and communications/public relations materials.

• Publish and promote content on Chinese social media channels. Execute social media campaign initiatives, including targeting.

• Collaborate with Firmwide Communications’ Digital Media team to conceptualize, plan, procure, and execute content production for Chinese social media and communications projects. Ensure content conforms to established standards.

• Work with professionals in Shanghai’s design studios and SOM’s China Practice at all levels, including senior leadership, to create engaging original content that supports communications strategy and business development goals.

• Help to further develop and define writing standards for Chinese online content and promote these standards across all Communications materials.
