In 1993 the two graphic designers Markus and Daniel Freitag were looking for a functional, water-repellent and robust bag for their designs. Inspired by the colourful trucks that past their flat in Zurich every day, they developed a messenger bag from used truck tarpaulins, discarded bicycle tubes and car belts. Thus, the first FREITAG bags were created. Inadvertently, the brothers triggered a new wave in the world of bags, which sloshed from Zurich via European cities to Asia, making FREITAG the unofficial supplier of all urban, cycling individualists.
Today, FREITAG products are now available in 25 F-STORES and more than 350 F-Dealers around the world, as well as in the unique FREITAG Online Store. Our headquarter is located in Zurich, where our bags are being designed. While we have been around for 25 years, we still see ourselves as a youthful company and we aim to provide a work environment where people can try out new things and take responsibility from the first day. We have recently opened our first store in Shanghai. But now we want to take the next step and are looking for a:
eCommerce Specialist in Shanghai
You lead and build up the Chinese domestic online business in order to establish FREITAG as premium, sustainable design brand in the Chinese digital environment. Together with our Sales Ambassador and Sales Team you share an office space in the middle of Shanghai. We have completed the initial setup but now we need a specialist who manages and curates the domestic platforms in China. This also includes evaluating new platforms and channels. But that’s not it. Thanks to your experience and entrepreneurial mindset, you'll also help expand our online communication in China by establishing online communication channels and content strategies.
Activities
- Create and own the business plan & business goals for China domestic eCommerce
- Coordinate and approve all platform activities with the local web partner (TP)
- Set budget and targets for online marketing across all domestic online channels
- Evaluate and determine platforms for successful and brand-compliant local online business
- Evaluate and select external service providers
- Define and build the necessary structures, processes and systems
- Establish domestic online communication channels and content strategies with HQ
- Set up, coach and brief web agencies, partners and suppliers in accordance with our values
- Set online communication goals for web agencies, partners, suppliers and domestic roles
- Coordinate local online communication strategies and activities, and the overall online communication presence with the local web agencies, the local PR agency and HQ
Requirements
- +3 years of experience in Chinese consumer goods eCommerce industry
- Very credible FREITAG personality with an excellent understanding of our brand values
- Strong Tmall experience and experience in managing a web partner (TP)
- Strong online business experience in China in execution and strategy
- Experience in online communication & content marketing
- Very good understanding of digital channels including SEM & Social Media
- Fluent in English and Mandarin is mandatory, any other language is a plus
- Excellent communication skills
- Solid web analytics skills
- Strong entrepreneurial mindset
- Ability to explore new ways and to think and act differently
