In this position, you will support the eMobility Group as the Simulation and Systems engineer, which encompasses the electric propulsion system (eMotor, inverter, battery, HV System) and vehicle. This individual will support the development of advanced control strategies and system development for electrified powertrain/systems optimization for efficiency and performance.

Responsibilities
- Use Simulation tools to develop concepts with best efficiency and performance for electric commercial vehicles

- Develop control-oriented models for Electric drivetrain to improve the capabilities and accuracy of Simulation tools

- Collaborate with design engineers by collecting accurate input variables for simulation and providing feedback on the performance and full-vehicle efficiency of their designs

- Support definition of powertrain-specific feature performance requirements and specifications based on simulation analysis

- Collaborate globally on Simulation efforts and tools, ensuring Daimlers Trucks world-class simulation capabilities

- Perform Simulation correlation activities with analysis of collected test data and comparison to Simulation model results and behavior

- Research novel ideas, controls and apply for patents in the DTNA electric powertrain system

- Apply advanced optimization techniques to find the best balance for efficiency and performance

- Apply advanced machine learning techniques to improve model accuracy

- Improve ePowertrain performance by developing and simulating advanced control strategies of axles, inverters, eMotor control, advanced braking and traction systems, etc

- Collect data and insights into ePowertrain features by participating in testing activities

- Broaden your expertise outside of your immediate responsibilities & become an expert in eMobility
