Title: Science (Physics or Chemistry) Teacher
Classification: Qualified Senior Secondary Teacher in teaching (Physics or Chemistry) Teacher (Native speaker ONLY)
Salary Range: RMB 18,000 – 25,000 per month after tax (pro rata),
dependent on qualifications and experience

Position Summary
The teacher is responsible for the delivery of the designated curricula for Stage II (Year 12)
as per the South Australian Certificate of Education (SACE). The successful applicant will
have sound knowledge of senior schooling and the appropriate pedagogies.
The mathematics and science courses, as set by the SACE Board of South Australia, are
unique amongst its Australian peers due to its strong academic focus. Our students, a very
committed and hard‐working group of young people, benefit greatly from this focus when
they go on to study at universities abroad.
Selection Criteria
Qualifications: ‐ Qualified Senior Secondary teacher eligible for registration in your
home country
‐ Good English command and communication skills
‐ A minimum of 2 years relevant experience in a similar position
Skills: ‐ Excellent teaching skills
‐ Proven ability in establishing a positive rapport with students and
teachers
‐ The ability to work as a team member
Key Responsibilities
The teaching of Stage II mathematics or science involves the following:
‐ a maximum of 20 classes per week
‐ preparation and submission of a Learning and Assessment Plan (LAP) to the SACE Board
for approval prior to the commencement of the course
‐ preparation of a complete week‐by‐week program prior to the commencement of the
course
‐ planning, setting, supervising and marking of assessment as per the teacher’s approved
LAP and SACE Board requirements (2 academic literacy studies and 4 responses to texts)
‐ liaising with Stage I teachers to ensure the delivery of a consistent program
