Principal Accountabilities

• Know, understand and incorporate the Wesco Aircraft vision, goals and values in all behavior, practice and decisions.
• Provisioning, maintaining and optimizing global network, voice and security systems to ensure minimal down time, optimal performance, and the highest of security standards
• Perform daily network administrative tasks; configuring and installing network and security systems; provisioning of new equipment (switches, routers, firewalls, VPNs, load balancers, SSL accelerators, Telco lines, etc.)
• Manage vendor relationships and contracts related to network services and infrastructure.
• Work with vendor tech support
• Replace faulty network equipment
• Participate in ongoing developments and improvements of network design, performance, monitoring, reporting methodologies and business continuity planning
• Perform root-cause analysis for all network related service interruptions and develops corrective action plans
• Strong adherence to change control processes and procedures
• Utilize ticketing system for tracking of all incidents, service request, and system changes
• Develop and maintain initial troubleshooting and triage procedures
• Develop and maintain network design and support related documentation
• Train Global IT Helpdesk personnel in level-1 network analysis and troubleshooting procedures
• Provide support for any high-severity/impact network related issues or any network issues that cannot be resolved by Global IT Helpdesk
• Provide effective support for remote offices which may not have IT personnel onsite

Nature and Scope

Though working primarily on EMEA and APAC Network Engineering activities, the role will encompass global projects and troubleshooting, supporting escalations and issues across all Wesco Hardware and Chemicals sites and users.

Background Experience and Qualifications

• Demonstrated experience as Network Engineer in medium to large-scale production environment
• Work experience Telco's and provisioned Internet or private line circuits
• Ability to deploy, configure, operate and interpret output from distributed network protocol analyzers is highly desired
• Experience configuring VPN tunnels and understanding of both IPSEC and SSL-based technologies
• Deep knowledge of switching, routing, firewall and VPN concepts with hands-on experience to match
• Experience in 2500-5000 node (minimum) global network environment
• High availability design; implementation and maintenance network and security environments
• Cisco Routers, ASA, IDS/IPS, Cisco Security Agent, DMVPN, CUCM (7.1 or higher)
• Juniper Routers and associated devices/protocols
• Network Certifications: CCNA, CCNP, JNCIA, JNCIS
