In this role, you have the opportunity to

Discover new solutions based on fundamental understanding and translate it into applicable working solutions/process for home kitchen appliances

Work in the team as nutritional health global competence center. The innovations will directly transfer to multiple Philips global business. Global view is a requirement / challenge
You are responsible for

Carry out scientific research on the principles and mechanisms; Develop complete solutions from principle selection to experimental verification under real-life conditions.
Lead and execute research project(s) according to time, cost, and quality requirement, and taking responsibility in translating research outcome into business opportunities. Manage well the research outcome in the form of IP, internal technical reports and quality publications, where applicable.
Contribute to new research direction initiatives and technology roadmap that lead to kitchen appliance development
Responsible for maintaining and updating personal knowledge and expertise, in respect to innovation, new technical developments and quality, within his/her application areas.
Maintains contacts with colleagues within and outside Philips, other R&D centers and open innovation partners, in order to participate in strategic platforms and to keep track of new developments.
You are a part of

Nutritional Health Team, which is a part of Personal Health China Department in Philips Research (China). The team is the global competence center on Food Science and Nutritional Health in Philips Research, collaborate with multiple Philips business where Philips Kitchen Appliance is our major innovation partner.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

Required Experience and Capability

PhD in food science, nutrition, clinical nutrition, human physiology/metabolism, clinical medicine, pharmacology or other related majors
3+ years research experience, excellent research capability demonstrated with good track record (e.g. publications at renowned international journals/conferences). Relevant industry research experience is a plus and global experience is a plus.
Ability to combine theoretical modeling and experimentation to optimally execute research projects.
Hands on experimental research, knowledge of and ability to setup appropriate experimental conditions
Experience in cross-discipline co-operation
Proven track record in managing projects or teams to deliver results
Experience in the definition and technical leadership of major research projects that successfully led to consumer products is a strong plus.
Effective communication skills, good grasp of English both oral and written.
