Introduction:

We are looking for a bright, proactive and motivated B2B Business Development Associate to join our China Marketing and BD team, based in EF Corporate Solutions Shanghai office and driving for our business growth in Greater China. The Business Development Associate will be responsible for engaging middle to senior-level professionals and executives and proactively scheduling and confirming client-facing meetings whilst gathering valuable market intelligence information from prospective customers.


We expect the candidate to be self-motivated, persistent and approachable.

Business Development Associate will directly report to Marketing Director and dot line report to Global Business Development Head based in London. Daily interfaces also include Marketing Manager, Marketing Intelligence, sales leaders and key account managers.

Responsibilities:

  • Work together with Marketing Intelligence to identify emerging industry and customer groups, produce and maintain target company lists of vertical industries for deeper penetration and wider coverage.
  • Work together with Marketing and Communications through effective online/offline channels and content marketing for leads generation and qualification, as well as leads nurturing to be sales qualified.
  • Regularly review with marketing and sales leaders on leads journey and sales pipeline. Seek ways to maintain healthy marketing and sales funnel.
  • Partner with Sales leaders and Key Account Managers to create customized plans for sales territory, support sales cycle and drive urgency.
  • Outreach through Linkedin, Wechat, email, calls, visits and etc. to various organizational levels in prospected companies to build up potential customers’ acquaintance and trust on EF Corporate Solutions.
  • Represent the Company and engage with targeted groups on various events, e.g. exhibitions, customer events and seminars for leads generation. When necessary, initiate and run proper customer events for the mentioned purposes. Work with Marketing and Communications to recruit members to attend such events.
  • Consolidate information from the above channels for proper understanding on targeted customer needs. Qualify leads so as to pass them onto Opportunity Teams. Book first customer meetings for Key Account Managers.
  • Ensure that Salesforce maintains accurate prospects/customers details and contact information, from various sources and channels.
  • Optimize business development and pre-sales related work processes when necessary.

Skills / Experiences:

  • University graduate, preferably with a Business degree.
  • At least 1 year of experience in business development/sales.
  • Preferred B2B background. Professional service industry background as a plus.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and presentation skills
  • Excellent telephone manners
  • Fluent in both Chinese and English
  • Can work effectively with Salesforce and Marketo.
  • Competent with MS PowerPoint, Word and Excel, or Mac equivalents
