• A Bachelor's Degree in an IT related field or equivalent experience is required

The AWS Internet Infrastructure team is responsible for the strategy, acquisition, implementation, and maintenance of relationships with strategic suppliers and partners to expand and grow AWS. This includes finding optimal solutions to Amazon's ongoing needs for data center capacity; working closely with network carriers to obtain capacity for expansion and growth of Amazon's China network; and meeting the operational sourcing requirements for new products, services, and initiatives prior to launch. By applying a unique blend of business and technology experience, you will work closely with both outside parties and internal teams to find creative, cost effective, and often unusual solutions to meet Amazon's ongoing growth and expansion needs worldwide.
This candidate will play a senior role in managing network activities in close coordination with other team members and external parties. This individual will manage peering and transit relationships with both external parties and will work closely with internal teams to ensure that peering and transit connections are managed in a timely and effective manner. This role is suited for someone who is excited by rapid growth and is willing to chart new territories and define new processes.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Exceptional strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable with basic BGP protocol configuration on various routing platforms and Linux/Unix skills is preferred.
• Update internal network tracking tools and other relevant documentation;
• Review documentation and reports to identify areas for network expansion and/or extension.
• Work with network engineers and the Internet Services leadership to analyze network traffic and trends.
• Assist Internet Services leadership and other internal groups to develop and improve processes for rapid installation and network upgrades.
• Must be able to handle highly sensitive, confidential, and unusual information with a diplomatic and friendly approach.
