High School Math/ Science Teacher (China)
Job Description:
• Job Title: Full-time Math& ScienceTeacher
• Courses: Math, Science
• Job Location: Taiyuan, Shanxi, China
• Type of School: International High School
• Students: G9-12
• Language of Instruction: English only
• Maximum of 22 teaching periods per week.
• May include other duties such as tutoring and leading extracurricular activities or clubs
• Beginning August, 2019
Compensation and Benefits:
• Salary: 18,000-23,000 RMB per month after taxes, depending on experience and other qualifications
• Housing allowance: 2,000 RMB per month
• Airfare reimbursement: 10,000 RMB upon completion of contract
• Standard medical and accident insurance
• Work visa expenses paid
• Reduced tuition for teachers’ children
• Academic calendar includes eleven national holidays as well as summer and winter breaks
Qualifications:
Required
• Native English speaker
• Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Math, Science or a related field
• At least two years of full-time subject-relevant and English teaching experience in a high school setting
• Internationally recognized teaching certification (TEFL, TESOL, CELTA, etc.)
• Ability to contribute to integrated teaching across the curriculum.
• Ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, work under pressure and, when necessary, with minimal resources.
• Positive attitude, honest, proactive, self-motivated, resourceful, patient, flexible, detail-focused, problem-solving-focused, skilled at classroom management/students assessment and use of ICT, aware of cross-culture, eager to collaborate with colleagues
• A criminal background check will be conducted after the acceptance of any employment contract
Preferred
• Mandarin as a second language
• Professional experience in international secondary education
• Experience teaching Chinese high school students
• American secondary school teaching license
