The Finance Manager - MTB Site Controller is responsible for the management of all finance and control matters for the MTB Backend Site. The key responsibilities are as follows:

  • Manage Financial and Cost accounting functions of the company to meet reporting purposes on monthly, quarterly and yearly basis for MTB.
  • Manage budgets and financial forecasts on quarterly basis.
  • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting for local, statutory, and corporate requirements in accordance with the US GAAP, SOX, and Tax regulations.
  • Build and maintain adequate controls, policies and procedures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of all financial information.
  • Provide timely and insightful financial support, data, analysis and business modeling for site operations, global backend, corporate and business divisions for operational performance tracking and business decision making.
  • Develop and lead team member performance, includes plan, train, coach, reward, and promote teamwork.

The Site Controller is expected to work with the Operations central costing teams and other Backend Site Finance teams to seek alignment and perform consistent benchmarking across the Backend sites.

This role reports into the Worldwide Backend Manufacturing Finance Controller. As a member of MTB Leadership team, the controller also matrix reports to the MTB Site Director.

Responsibilities

Operations Finance Management

Site Financial Management

  • Support site management in all matters relating to performance objectives, cost reporting, output optimization, capital asset justification, and other analyses as required.
  • Dedicated ability to direct operations management to cost opportunities, and recommend courses of improvement
  • Accurately report output and cost performance and compare results with other worldwide backend operations

Product Costing Support

  • Support Site cost requirements and cost allocation procedures for MTB
  • Directly engage with worldwide manufacturing teams on cost reduction and capital avoidance programs
  • Objectively report cost per part and other process cost measures
  • Maintain alignment to Micron’s worldwide capital, planning and cost reporting procedures
  • Support and provide resources for the Finance Transformation project including review of budget model solutions

Budget and Manufacturing Forecast

  • Directly manage the development and reporting of manufacturing budgets & headcount projections
  • Meet Micron’s consolidated budget, planning and reporting requirements

Accounting Financial Management & Control

Compliance and Internal Accounting Controls

  • Work with Corporate and Site Management, ensure that procedures and controls are in place to satisfy both local requirements and Micron’s worldwide procedures and policies.
  • Ensure that a system of internal accounting controls is in place that meets requirements for financial reporting, the safeguarding of assets, and appropriate record retention.

Financial Reporting and Systems

  • Meet all requirements for the timely reporting of financial documents, in compliance with Micron policies.
  • Understand and implement Micron financial, costing and planning systems.
  • Ensure reporting standards are met through deep knowledge of US GAAP.

Finance Team Leadership and Development

Team Leadership

  • Lead a team of 4 finance professionals in Taiwan
  • Develop and implement a staffing plan adequate to meet long-term business requirements
  • Prioritize issues and projects, and allocate resources to meet deliverables within business requirements
  • Develop a culture of shared purpose & responsibility across site and worldwide Micron team

Manage Performance and Develop Team Members

  • Ensure continual development for the finance staff
  • Provide required resources & training to enable team member success
  • Lead goal setting, team coaching, and performance appraisals
  • Identify strengths and create specific development plans according to individual need
  • Ensure site finance team is familiar with Micron finance activities and procedures
  • Coordinate systems and other training opportunities
  • Provide recognition, drive accountability and foster an environment of continuous improvement

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated track record of individual contribution and team leadership
  • Minimum 3-5 years in a Finance leadership position in a manufacturing environment
  • CPA qualification, Master’s degree in Accountancy, ACCA, ACMA, and /or MBA preferred
  • Familiarity with accounting & enterprise reporting systems (SAP, Cognos, TM1 preferred)
  • Deep knowledge of financial systems of internal controls (SOX, other)
  • Strong knowledge of operations finance: financial planning, modeling, cost & inventory reporting
  • Independent financial analytical ability, ROI modeling
  • Ability to provide decision support and recommendations, not just data
  • Demonstrated record of successful team leadership and development; and business partnering skills
