Job Description

Key responsibilities:

Reporting to the Greater China Marketing Manager and dotted line to the Greater China Managing Director, you will join the energetic Greater China marketing team and act as a business partner to Robert Walters China, facilitating business growth through global, regional and local marketing projects.

  • Marketing

  • plan and execute marketing campaigns in line with business strategies and goals for our mainland China business
  • fully responsible for launching regional and national marketing campaigns, reporting subsequent ROI analyses
  • develop and update corporate collaterals and merchandise packs, translating marketing literature when required
  • oversee merchandise orders for APAC region, from ideation through delivery shipment
  • produce quarterly reports Marketing Manager to assess ROI, along with qualitative feedback on market conditions
  • plan and monitor the marketing budget spent for mainland China on a regular basis
  • work closely with Finance and HR to ensure compliance in vendor relations, process payments, job broad usage and contracts for all marketing activities etc

  • Digital

  • responsible for driving digital initiatives, including but not limited to keyword search marketing, SEO, display advertising and social media (e.g. Weibo & WeChat) to drive engagement and traffic to site

  • position Robert Walters as top of mind for employers and job seekers through content marketing and email marketing by using electronic digital mailer software

  • review digital campaigns by matrix and perform checks on global app roll outs and updates

  • maintain and optimise China website via the CMS platform


  • Events

  • work with business managers to develop an annual events calendar, as well as conceptualise and organise events for clients/candidates for all divisions
  • form strategic partnerships and alliances with professional bodies, associations and tertiary institutions in rolling out Robert Walters thought leader events and executive career seminars
  • identify industry events that will increase Robert Walters’ profile and speaking opportunities
  • source for quality event partners, venues and suppliers and negotiate rates within budget
  • manage all logistical issues for all events, including sponsored events
  • assist the Marketing Manager in rolling out CSR activities in local markets

  • PR & Communications

  • establish the media relationships in mainland China and maximize our media exposures

  • compile and track all publicity materials – print, online and broadcast

  • assist in translating and proofreading for all editorial projects


Key requirements:


With this role split between gaining market share and supporting the business’s marketing needs, strong interpersonal and communication skills will be critical to your success.


  • bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing or Business Administration

  • a minimum of five years’ work experience in marketing, public relations or event management, preferably with MNCs

  • a sense of ownership under minimal supervision; able to generate new plans and proposals to management based on data and market feedback

  • outstanding organizational and project management skills, able to prioritise and deliver on multiple projects in different capacities (e.g. project manager, contributor, planner), under tight deadlines

  • highly meticulous and independent, with a strong passion for marketing or branding on a B2B level

  • proven ability to demonstrate how marketing initiatives support the business and get buy in from multiple stakeholders

  • good knowledge in computer applications including Microsoft Suite and Chinese word processing is essential, knowledge in Adobe Design suite is a plus

  • proficiency in spoken and written English and Chinese is a must
