Job summary
Primary job responsibilities
- Manage accounting processes to ensure timely and accurate reporting of results each month
- Ensure accurate and timely month, quarter, and year-end closing
- Maintain general ledger and bank reconciliations, fixed assets register, and capitalization
- Enforce accounting regulations and design new operational procedures and process; continually identify and guide process improvements
- Manage the annual audit process and preparation of statutory accounts
- Communicate with external parties like auditors and regulation and professional services agencies
- Identify, articulate, and communicate project and accounting operation risks to management, along with clear recommendations for resolution or mitigation
- Select, develop, and provide coaching and training to associates in the China accounting function
- Review monthly balance sheet and expense fluctuation analysis
- Conduct monthly review of all balance sheet schedules, ensuring that reasonable actions are followed up on open items
- Be responsible for establishing and carrying internal controls over the company's accounting and financial procedures
- Support budgeting and forecasting activities for the CFO function
- Provide cash flow projection and expenses forecast for the business group and finance team in collaboration with the treasury
Required skills
- Bachelor's or master's degree in accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certification, MBA degree, or other equivalent professional qualifications
- Fluent language skills in English; excellent communication and interpersonal skills for working with a wide range of stakeholders
- 10+ years of post-qualification experience in financial management and accounting; 5+ years of people management experience
- Knowledge of finance, accounting, budgeting, and cost control principles
- Experience working with an enterprise resource planning (ERP) system
- Knowledge of statutory, financial, and tax regulations for China, Hong Kong, and Taiwan
- Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements, and projections
- Familiarity with local GAAP, U.S. GAAP, and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Previous experience working in a U.S. or European IT multinational corporation (MNC)
- Previous experience working in a Big 4 company or public practice
