Sourcing Manager for procurement and contract management in Taiwan

Job Description

Would you like to optimise our procurement activities while reducing cost and complexity?

Join us and become Sourcing Manager in the local Procurement team in our offshore wind power business where you’ll work with a wide range of local and global suppliers and be part of a diverse team responsible for buying spare parts and services and hiring external consultants. Your responsibility will include supporting our projects in the construction phase with the key focus of procurement tasks for the safe and cost-effective operation and maintenance of our wind farms, and on longer term manage contracts and suppliers at our site as a key member of the team.

You will be based in Taichung, Taiwan on local terms and conditions. However, you should expect some occasional travel in relation to your work.

Your key tasks will be to

  • undertake local procurement and contract management activities (including tendering, negotiation and preparation of contract documents for different kinds of services for inspection and maintenance)
  • screen and identify the most qualified suppliers, e.g. for inspection, maintenance, consultancy services
  • ensure that procurement targets are met and prepare procurement strategies and plans
  • contribute to the realisation of synergies across projects and sites
  • ensure that we comply with relevant processes, regulations and best practices
  • support other Sourcing Managers in Procurement with sourcing and contract activities in Asia.

Your qualifications and core competences include that you

  • have a relevant technical or commercial education at master's or bachelor level and solid experience with procurement and contract management, preferably within a project organisation and possibly in the energy sector
  • have strong negotiation skills enabling you to communicate professionally with our business partners
  • speak and write English fluently at negotiation level
  • speak and write Mandarin fluently
  • have in-depth knowledge of the Microsoft Office programs, such as advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills.

Moreover, you have extraordinary people skills to facilitate communication and cooperation with colleagues and stakeholders.
