    Objectives:
  • Proactive management of the BASF Coatings raw material requirements in the A/P region acc. to business needs. Verify our actual requirements in the context of savings, localization and striving for agreements with internal customers.
  • This position will support, establish and manage Contact Manufacturing processes within the A/P region for BASF Coatings.
  • Main Tasks:
  • Day-to-day support of Upstream management activities in the A/P region, means:
  • Identify new/ alternative suppliers and materials for regional and global use, reduce number of single sourced or monopoly materials. This position prioritizes raw material activities together with business units, follow up and expedite new raw material testing plans and introductions, and achieve significant savings for the business.
  • As a RCCM you identify and qualify possible Asian contract manufacturers for domestic and international use in agreement with Global Upstream Management, Global Procurement and manage existing contracts and contract manufacturing relationships accordingly (timing of expiration, product quality, continuity of supply, contract manufacturing costs, compliance & certification).
  • Support "make-or-buy" evaluations together with Global Contract Manufacturing Management and business representatives for new contract manufacturing candidates.
  • You organize supplier meetings and visits at supplier sites, do the evaluation and qualification as well as support in possible audits.
  • Manage project related tasks, i.a. internal audit coordination, process development, quality topics.
  • Educate and train the organization about processes, role and responsibilities to be followed.

  • Degree in chemistry, working experience in coatings industry preferred
  • Excellent team player & communication skills, intercultural orientation
  • Flexibility to do business trips regionally/ globally.
  • English business fluent
