Mission

The mission of the Business Controller is to govern the financial activities of the company and support the General Manager in making effective business decisions. In the process, he/she safeguards internal controls to protect company assets and identifies areas of concern or improvement. The Business Controller leads an experienced Finance/Credit department, who’s responsibilities include (but are not limited to) operating financial systems, financial reporting, tax planning, budgeting, forecasting, strategic planning and analyzing investment projects. By working closely with various departments and supporting Business Line Managers, he/she will ensure that all strategies and business plans necessary to drive sustainable and profitable growth are developed, in place and tracked.

The Business Controller reports directly to the General Manager and is a key member of the Management Team, driving Atlas Copco Taiwan to become and remain First in Mind - First in Choice®.

Job Description

• Ensure that all business and internal controls comply with “The Way We Do Things” and adequately protect the company.
• Ensure compliance with local statutory regulations and legal requirements, confirm via thorough external audits. Report to local government departments and entities as required.
• Provide regular, insightful and concise dashboards to the management team featuring key business indicators, highlights and red flags required to steer the business.
• Lead and coordinate financial reporting activities (monthly, quarterly and yearly) in line with Group requirements.
• Assist in developing the business plans, companywide and by division, defining financial budgets and targets. Review, monitor and control the planning process.
• Manage and develop the Finance/Credit team to ensure they have all required competencies and certifications required to fulfil their role.
• Proactively raise “Red Flags” for any perceived risk to the company, help draft corrective action plans, implement and followup (as necessary).
• Assist in the preparation of and attend: Legal Board Meetings, Company Review Meetings, Business Review Meetings, Management Meetings.

Experience requirements

• Minimum of 5 years of related working experience in the financial area.
• Experience within the Atlas Copco Group, or other multinational sales and service companies is a plus.

Knowledge

• Highly knowledgeable in accounting standards (IFRS, GAAP) with the capacity to incorporate product, market and sales process understanding.
• Knowledge of the Atlas Copco Finance and Administration requirements (FAM) defined in “The Way We Do Things”.
• Highly proficient in Chinese and English languages, capable of communicating (written and spoken) in both languages.
• Skilled with software such as Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), SAP, PowerBI, SQL, GPS (internal reporting tool).
• Knowledge of Taiwan tax system and fiscal rules is a plus.

Educational requirements

• University Degree in Accounting / Finance / Business Administration (or equivalent through experience).
• Accreditation to local financial standards (i.e. Certified Public Accountant) is a plus.
