职位信息

Initiation

  • Based on initial marketing & commercial requirements; highlight any obvious potential design flaws/ resource issues that could be detrimental to the project.

  • Initiate improvement plans within the factory to drive the Engineering team to help improve quality, improve delivery time and reduce cost.

  • Initiate and manage risk assessment activities for NPI (New Product Implementation) and existing products in mass production.

Planning

  • Create, maintain and manage complex project design & resource plans across multiple international sites with competing priorities to ensure project schedules are met.

  • Factory and Equipment maintenance plan �C ensuring that downtime is kept to a minimum while ensuring all tools, equipment, machines and services are well maintained.

  • Strategic planning for future project requirements (tools/ jigs/ fixtures) while also working with the GM regarding factory requirements (layout/ facilities etc


Action

  • Take 3D concept and convert to 2D/3D drawings in line with customer requirements (tolerances, critical dims etc)

  • Conduct/ Manage the preparing of drawings and parts lists for each project

  • Drive the development of design through Engineering activities to ensure that products are designed for manufacture.

  • Manage the Supplier Technology with both your STE’s and the Supplier to ensure maximum benefit to both parties, balancing design and supplier capability.

  • Day to day technical support to be provided to the Engineering team and then through to Production Management/ Operatives while also running trouble shooting/ failure analysis activities as and when required.

Risk & Issue Management

  • Lead the design team in identifying technical and project risks. Define, drive and manage mitigation actions to limit exposure.

  • Conduct/ Manage FMEA to ensure no conflicting parts in design.

  • Identify, track and manage technical and design issues to resolution throughout the project lifecycle to ensure quality, performance and commercial targets are met.

Reporting & Communication

  • Attend regular project meetings with local and international teams, both internal and external; to plan and drive all Engineering team project activities.

  • Communicate project information and status to the project team and management team.

  • Motivate design team members to ensure project goals are met.

  • Budget planning and execution of spend to remain within budget, for departmental and project related spend.

  • Plan �C drive �C report Continuous Improvement projects/ plans through the organisation in line with Individual/ Departmental and Organisational objectives.

Process Management

  • Control and manage design changes (ECR, ECN process) and assess impact to project time, quality and cost.

  • Manage the Engineering responsibility for SAN (Sample Approval Notification) for all new components using FFF (Fit, Form, Function)

Professional knowledge/Skill/Quality:

  • A strong leader and team player interested in the success of the group and not the individual.
  • Organised yet adaptable and able to deal with change in a fast moving and complex

development environment across multiple international sites.

  • Strong in communication, interpersonal & presentational skills.
  • Have a sense of urgency
  • Must have a customer oriented attitude

Working experience:

  • Min. 5 yr experience working in a similar role for a foreign owned or multi-national company in

the consumer electronics industry.

  • Audio/ speaker design experience is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience of working within an Electronics Environment is Essential.
  • Working experience with said materials �C Plastic, Aluminum, Alloy, Die Cast, Sheet Metal,

Wood, Composites is essential.

  • Experienced in design and manufacturing of special solutions and understanding customer’s

needs.

  • Experience using/ driving trouble shooting techniques such as FMEA, DFMEA,

- The successful candidate must have in depth working experience and knowledge of managing

complex,international projects through the entire project lifecycle from initiation & definition

through to execution & mass production.

The candidate must be highly proficient in English �C both written and oral.

  • Proficient in 2D Auto CAD, 3D Solid work/ pro-e/ NX Uni-graphics.
  • Proficient/ Experience with SAP Database is a preference but not essential
  • Ability to question the way we do things in order to find a better way.
  • Analytical problem solving skills.
