Thermal Senior Principal Engineer

Principal Responsibilities

• Leads efforts of internal and external thermal development teams in all development project activities
• Conducts thermal feasibility studies for new projects leveraging existing designs while also generating new designs and IP
• Through understanding of the thermal/mechanical development process and expert in planning and executing associated development activities.
• Leads thermal development activities with minimal supervison on the most complex devices, subsystems and components.
• Provides design guidance and solutions for difficult thermal issues.
• Supports and influences integration of thermal strategy across techincal deiciplines internally and externally.
• Leads and directs across products, technical disciplines and core teams on all thermal issues.
• Drives consistency and thoroughness
• Viewed internally and externally as a thermal technology and tools expert (FloTherm, ProE, Solidworks)
• Mentors others
• Demonstrates leadership

Skills

• Advanced knowledge and understanding of manufacturing driven design issues
• Advanced ability to read and understand complex drawings as well as 3D database
• Advanced understanding of thermal technologies, vendor products, and competitor’s offerings
• Advanced understanding of using 3D CAD and FloTherm thermal simulation tools
• Advanced ability to read and understand technical data sheets.
• Fluent in English language (verbal and written)

Education and Experience

• Typically requires 12+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree, or 8+ years with a Master’s degree, 5+ years with a PhD, or equivalent experience.
