PURPOSE AND OBJECTIVES

More than ever, developers need the right platform to quickly extend, build and run cloud business applications. SAP Cloud Platform is the Platform-as-a-Service built to meet the exacting needs of modern developers. With comprehensive services and capabilities, the world's best developers depend on SAP Cloud Platform to build better apps in less time.

We want to establish an SAP CP core multi-cloud team which is supposed to port the Cloud foundry and Kubernetes open-source system within SAP Cloud Platform for automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized business applications onto new Infrastructure as a Service Layers like e.g. the Alibaba Cloud.

If you are interested in cloud development based on cutting-edge technology and open source, you will find an inspiring and professional environment. You will be working as a DevOps in a Scrum team located in Shanghai. We emphasize teamwork and a trust-based working model. Collaboration with other teams in an international environment will be a regular part of your work. Wherever possible, we offer opportunities for professional development and coaching. As we are not only designing and developing our offerings but also run them, you should be open for the mindset of DevOps and SRE.

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

Your area of responsibility would comprise the following deliverables:

• You will be responsible of operating SAP CP core services in aligned with DevOps and SRE spirit.
• You will be in tight contact with external workforce of IaaS vendor to discuss additional technical requirements and/or workarounds.
• You will work with various SAP teams to assist and support them to host their solutions/services on SAP CP.

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES

Required Skills

• Experience with debugging and profiling tools
• Experience with REST APIs
• Expertise in identifying performance bottlenecks in distributed systems
• Good knowledge in Unix/Linux and operating system principles.
• Good operational knowledge of algorithms and data structures.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in computer science or related fields.
• Good Chinese and English both spoken and written.

Preferred Skills

• Experienced in OpenStack, Cloud Foundry and/or Kubernetes.
• Knowledge in database administration or big data.
• Understanding of networking protocols, distributed systems and container technology.

WORK EXPERIENCE

• 3+ years of experience in a development organization.
