Role Summary: This Senior Legal Counsel is primarily responsible for working with business partners on strategic projects. He/she may also support the business in structuring and negotiating commercial transactions and key business initiatives. Acting as a strategic business partner the Senior Legal Counsel is expected to provide advice to the senior P&L leaders on observed opportunities and strategic direction. This role reports to a more senior counsel of GE Healthcare China.
Essential Responsibilities: • Work with the business team as a business partner to identify opportunities to drive business forward, e.g. structuring, negotiating and closing of complex transactions, developing legal processes/templates for new business models, etc.

• Drafting, reviewing and negotiating strategic business agreements and transactions
• Providing regulatory and compliance advice in conjunction with the Regulatory and Compliance specialist areas in GE Healthcare.
• Managing outside counsel, when brought in to assist
• Managing/supporting the management of disputes and litigation
• Applying combined business and legal judgment to proposed deals, relationships and other issues requiring legal or compliance attention
• Providing legal support as may be requested by his/her manager

Qualifications/Requirements: 1. Law degree from a reputable university. JD or LLM from an overseas law school is a plus.
2. PRC bar. Admission to major overseas jurisdictions is a plus.
3. At least 8 years of business law experience at a large law firm and/or corporate legal department, including previous experience of drafting, negotiating and closing complex business transactions.
4. Previous experience in identifying and resolving legal issues quickly and effectively and ability to make on the spot risk calls.
5. Previous experience prioritizing conflicting demands from multiple business clients in an extremely fast paced environment.
6. Excellent English (both oral and written) and strong ability to communicate effectively with multiple stakeholders in driving outcome

Preferred Qualifications:
1. Experience of the Healthcare industry and previous exposure to medical industry
2. Demonstrated experience providing legal advice in a highly regulated environment
