Job Description:

Based in Chaoyang District, Beijing, the Legal Counsel is a member of the GDS Legal and Compliance Team and has the following main responsibilities:

• To conduct legal research and provide legal advice on various legal subject matters involved in the daily operations of the business

• To draft and review commercial agreements (such as services agreements, real estate leasing agreements, procurement agreements and NDAs) and participate in meetings with internal and external parties

• To handle daily corporate governance matters such as the establishment of WFOEs and maintenance of corporate documents

• To liaise and coordinate with external law firms

Requirements:

• An LLB degree or above from a reputable university, an LLM degree from a common law jurisdiction highly preferred

• Qualified to practice law in China and qualification in a common law jurisdiction a strong plus

• At least 2 years of experience in a multinational corporation or an international/domestic law firm; exceptional candidates without working experience may be considered; in-house experience not required

• Native Chinese speaker with fluent spoken and written English and excellent command of MS Office software application (e.g., Word, Excel and Powerpoint)

• Hardworking, proactive and detail- and solution-oriented with a “can do” attitude

• Mature, pragmatic, self-motivated, able to multiple-task and work independently and under pressure

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, high integrity, business acumen and a team player
