This is a Senior Mechanical Engineer role, reporting to the R&D Team Manager in Business Area – Motion located in Nanjing, China.

Your responsibilities

• Being responsible for creating and/or updating mechanical design for Servo drive product development to meet technical requirements and cost, quality and reliability targets.
• Generating bill of materials, engineering drawings in 3D and 2D data.
• Working together with electronics design, process, manufacturing, test and verification engineers as well as mechanic tooling and part suppliers in new product development projects.
• Supporting internal and external customers in technical challenges.

Your background

• Must have a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, thermodynamics or similar field is preferred.
• At least 5 years work experience within mechanical design and/or relevant area, e.g. manufacturing/NPI/EMS.
• Must have experience in structural design of complex industrial products, including sheet metal, plastic, cooling system, thermal simulation and design, static analysis and model analysis.
• Sound understanding on electronics product DFM (design for manufacturing) and DFA (design for assembly), and automated manufacturing and good knowledge of manufacturing processes including thermoplastic and thermal set molding, metal stamping, extrusion, die casting, packaging.
• Sound understanding on electronics production process, tests, statistical process evaluation / control (cpk etc) and good knowledge of UL (Underwriters Laboratories), IEC ( International electrotechnical Commission), NEMA (National Electrical Manufacturers Association), TUV (Technical Inspection Association), and environment standards.
• Must have work or study experience aboard or in an international company.
• Familiarity with rapid prototyping methods and experience in fixture design / manufacturing experience and process engineering experience like assembly line layout / line balance design.
• Good communication skills in English and Chinese languages (written and spoken).
