Job Description

Eaton’s Power Motion Control Division is currently seeking a Quality Technician – 1st Shift to join our team.  This position is based at our Searcy, Arkansas facility.

 

The Quality Technician’s primary function is to evaluate gages, piece parts and fixtures, by manufactured standards to ensure product reliability and maintain established quality goals.  This is to be done with little or no supervision to maintain high degree of safety, quality and productivity.

In this function you will:
  • Inspect, test, and adjust new and reworked gages for conformance to specifications, such
  • as dimensions.
  • Compute angles, radius and other dimensions not given in specifications, using algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
  • Inspect all products where gauging and standard practices are not established.
  • Have knowledge of layout work using surface plate technique to position work piece in order to check it to blueprint specification.
  • Measure angular dimensions, radii, contours, clearance thread lead and other specifications, using precision measuring instruments.
  • Determine mechanical function of gages for fit of moving parts, hardness and accuracy, and make adjustments to inaccurate instruments.
  • Problem solving capabilities.
  • Must complete all job duties in a timely manner.
  • Maintain maximum safety and good house keeping practices.
  • Follow all safety rules, report all accidents or unsafe conditions to supervision immediately and wear all required personal protective equipment.
  • Be responsible for the housekeeping of his/her work area and should maintain these areas to the highest degree possible.
  • Attendance and punctuality is a key component in performing his or her job functions.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Required (Basic) Qualifications:
  • High School Diploma or GED (General Education Degree) is required.
  • Minimum of six (6) months experience working in the quality function.
  • No relocation is being offered for this role.  All candidates considered must live within 50 miles of the Searcy, Arkansas facility.  Active Duty Military Service member candidates are exempt from the geographical area limitation.
  • Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without out company sponsorship, now or in the future.
 
 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prefer two (2) – four (4) years in advanced inspection.
  • Knowledge of quality control inspection procedures.
  • Technical Knowledge of manufacturing processes.
  • Knowledge of and ability to operate precision measuring devices relative to quality control functions and comprehend programming procedures for gauging.
