Reporting to the Financial Controller, responsible for oversight the statutory/financial reporting and business projection of the company with respect to the results produced from actuarial reporting team. Lead the actuarial related projects and coordinate with different actuarial team leads to deliver quality service, effective output in performance, strategic actuarial initiatives, and unfold team capacity in order to be next Gen Finance

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Hold overall accountability over financial reporting and budgeting related to actuarial function.  Coach the actuarial team leads to carry out functions related to all financial reporting so as to accomplish both departmental and entity objectives
  • Ensure smooth production of various financial reports and report to management the financial position of the company.  Understand the business issues and make professional recommendations to management
  • Liaise and co-ordinate with Capital Management, Finance, Investment Department and Group Office counterparts to deliver the financial reports with accuracy and quality and in timely manner
  • Coach the team and collaborate with Capital Management, Finance, Operation, IT, Investment Department and Group counterparts to deliver strategic actuarial initiative e,g digitalization, TOM, governance of regulatory compliance
  • Handle regulator and auditors requests. Negotiate agenda and prioritize tasks and resources
  • Provide direction and technical advice to the actuaries in the department. Unfold team capacity in order to be more dynamic, insightful and influential
  • Performs other responsibilities and duties periodically assigned by supervisor in order to meet operational and/or other requirement

The incumbent is required to obtain relevant license if the job involves in regulated activities and ensure team members who perform regulated activities have obtained the relevant licenses and fulfilled the licensing requirements

Minimum Job Requirements:

  • University graduate in Actuarial Science or Statistics with at least 10 years’ post–qualification experience in life insurance industry
  • Sound people management and analytical skills
  • Excellent communication, presentation and project management skills
  • Possess business acumen, be innovative and self-driven
  • Ability to deal with and handle multiple and changing priorities
  • Knowledge in insurance products and various financial reporting bases
  • Knowledge in fund management and pricing strategy will be an advantage
  • Proficiency in MS Office (e.g. VBA), Actuarial Software
  • You are required to obtain relevant license if your job involves in regulated activities
