We are currently recruiting for an experienced Aftersales Manager to independently manage and develop a customer-oriented and profitable vehicle workshop and spare parts business at our highly successful and busy Colindale site on Edgware Road in London.  
 
Leading a large team of Vehicle Technicians and Parts Advisors, you will look to optimise the market, maximizing profit by delivering an exceptional level of customer satisfaction through your team as well as planning, controlling and monitoring processes in customer services areas.

Please note the salary for this position is £66,666 + up to £33,333 bonus.
 
About the role
Customer satisfaction is the key to success in this role.  You will need to plan and control service advertising, customer loyalty activities, customer surveys and other measures for monitoring customer satisfaction and act upon results to ensure we continue to deliver first class service. 
 
You will regularly review prices for workshop services and, after prior agreement with the company management, adapting them to suit the market and maintain our competitive edge. 
 
As you will be managing a large team, this will be a big part of your role.  Coaching and motivating your team to drive excellence is critical as is monitoring and optimising productivity and performance.  Without a strong team, it is difficult to deliver in this role!
 
Other key responsibilities in this crucial role include: 
- Employing new staff and developing an induction plan
- Defining target agreements with employees and reviewing the level of target achievement
- Ensuring customers and technicians have access to advice on identifying which spare parts and accessories they require
- Compiling and maintaining a resource plan for the workshop and warehouse and developing concepts and measures for load optimisation
- Identifying areas of risk within areas of responsibility and developing and maintaining effective controls to reduce risk of fraud occurring
- Defining market targets for workshops and the spare parts business within the framework of performance targets defined by Mercedes-Benz UK and, together with the company management, drawing up a corresponding annual plan
- Ensuring planning for facilities, bays, machines, tools and diagnosis installations is carried out correctly; optimal design of workplaces and processes
- Preparing planning and calculations for investments in workshops, facilities and people together with the company management
- Involvement in determining the communication budget
- Monitoring the regional market with respect to new competitors
 
About you


Alongside demonstrable experience within a similar role, you will need:
- Significant team management experience
- Extensive knowledge of business administration
- Significant workshop and spare parts experience within the automotive industry
- A good understanding of quality assurance methods
- Experience of monitoring and acting upon customer satisfaction survey results
