PURPOSE & OBJECTIVES

SAP has set an ambitious goal to become the #1 ERP Cloud leader in the market. We want to be as successful in the Cloud as we have been on premise. To get there, SAP Product Engineering has kicked off the CORE transformation program. The workstream E4 - Development Productivity is a critical part of the entire Transformation. The workstream will enable us to achieve the vision of being cloud first and deliver high quality products to customers continuously. The new team within our cross-unit S/4HANA Enterprise Architecture & Cross Engineering will consist out of experts and coaches to drive central concepts and to organize the roll-out throughout the S/4 organization in Agile Engineering as well as Agile Framework & Processes.

As an Agile Coach/Expert you will contribute towards shifting and transforming the mindset of the S/4 organization to become more agile. Design Agile concepts, conduct PoCs with teams to test and refine the concept, and educate and mentor individual scrum teams to drive a culture of continous improvement. 

EXPECTATIONS AND TASKS

As a part of the team your main responsibilities will include:

  • Design Agile concepts by analysing and understanding agile practices followed in different LoBs, leveraging internal and external expertise, and aligning the concepts with overall direction of engineering in S/4​
  • Create playbooks for Agile practices that can be used by other coaches to roll out initiatives to multiple scrum teams​
  • Conduct workshops and facilitate dependency planning and other meetings requiring linkages with external teams​
  • Establish foundational scrum enablers including effective use of information radiators, and bring in best practices in effective use of scrum board​
  • Share best practices, coach teams on agile ceremonies like release and takt planning, user story splitting etc. and unblock impediments to drive adoption​
  • Seek and share SAP internal and external expertise for collective team uplift via organized events such as brown bag lunch sessions and expert talk series​

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS

Required skills 

  • B.S. or M.S. in Business Informatics, Business Administration, Computer Science, or related fields
  • Demonstrated expertise and interest in agile practices in past e.g., played scrum master role in a team​
  • Successful track record of delivering projects and further enabling teams using Scrum methodology​
  • Knowledge and experience of widely successful agile techniques e.g., user story writing, dependency planning, estimation, refinement, planning, review, retrospective, agile games​
  • Entrepreneurial self-starter who is self-motivated, but also a team player with a professional presence​
  • Strong communication and mentoring skills - Fluent in English

WORK EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum of 3 years of related experience in product software development and/or related fields
  • Experience in leading by example and servant leadership style
  • Experience in guiding and coaching Teams and organization on how to use Agile/Scrum practices and values to delight customers
  • Experience in refining and managing product backlogs
