Job Description

Agronomic Research Specialist for Williamsburg, IA to conduct research to determine best methods to ensure delivery of pre-commercial parent seeds for research & development use in North America and key world regions including inventory management, demand allocation and distribution; communicate research & development results to key stakeholders and provide information and recommendations for improved pipeline operations; provide demand forecasting based on predictive analytics tools; utilize quantitative data management & analysis techniques to manage inventory quantity and quality against forecasted demand to prescribe seed production and seed ordering; facilitate consensus supply prioritization discussions with customers & key stakeholders; ensure timely delivery & receipt of germplasm to and from other world regions; oversee product quality data & coordinate nonconformance removal actions or investigations into seed genetic purity; ensure compliance with health and safety procedures and regulations.  Requires Bachelor’s in Agronomy, Plant Breeding, Plant Pathology or closely-related field and 2 yrs experience using quantitative data management & analysis techniques to coordinate multidimensional databases and reporting visualizations; working with SAP, Bartender, SID, Apollo, Horizon and Momentum data science informatics tools; managing, summarizing & modeling global germplasm strategy for allocation and domestic distribution including intellectual property agency and government requirements; developing multi-layered quantitative, qualitative & environmental data visualizations using predictive modeling, data qualification and quality audit data mining techniques;  using Oracle & PL/SQL; evaluating strategic tools to enhance germplasm production & distribution accuracy for global allocation; and updating plant breeding, research & development operations, policies and procedures.  Mail resume to Cascinda Fischbeck, Bayer Research and Development Services LLC, 800 N.
