As Associate Director Market Access Service Contracting, you'll play a pivotal role in channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing patients' lives.  North American Commercial is the 'face' of AstraZeneca to our many healthcare clients. They represent many of the most well recognized and respected products in the industry, and build strong relationships with healthcare professionals.

The Associate Director, Service Contracting is responsible for leading the contracting process for all service agreements with Market Access Customers. The role will partner with the Customer Facing Market Access teams to understand unique customer business models and impact to service contracting & fees.  In addition, the role will work closely with Access Strategy to ensure alignment with service strategy and cross functional stakeholders (Patient Safety, Compliance, Legal, Insights) in support of service contracting. The AD, Service Contracting will also support the Enterprise Network Governance process by leading ongoing distribution network access analysis.

Responsibilities:

  • Serve as subject matter expert for service capabilities, including by customer, and inform ACERT as necessary.
  • Responsible for all phases of contracting from drafting to execution.
  • Partner with ACERT and FMV Leads to ensure alignment with approved service and fair market value fees.
  • Coordinate with team of analysts on operational activities to ensure accurate contract interpretation and set up of service fee agreements.  
  • Effectively communicate to senior leaders and stakeholder contract progression, issues and/or risks.
  • Establishes and maintains collaborative internal and external customer relationships.
  • Performs analysis and final decision on access inquiries to AZ’s limited distribution networks.

Requirements:

Education, Qualifications, Skills and Experience

Essential:

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • 6+ years of pharmaceutical or related healthcare business
  • Significant experience negotiating contracts with large financial implications
  • Demonstrated strategic & relationship building skills
  • Demonstrated ability gain consensus and act within a matrix team environment

Desirable

  • MBA or JD
  • Specialty contracting experience preferred
  • Vendor service contracting experience preferred
  • Experience with customer facing teams
  • Understanding of Market Access and healthcare delivery
