Job Description:

The position fulfills the following objectives:

  • To drive the development and implementation of technology tools to facilitate integrated Governance, Risk and Compliance (GRC).

  • To support the development and implementation of group-wide operational risk management activities.

  • To be responsible for enhancing a strong risk culture, awareness and capabilities at Group Office and across all local Business Units.

  • To provide technical support and oversight to the local Business Units in relation to the fulminant of requirements under the Group Operational Risk and Control Framework (ORCF).

  • To be responsible for the ongoing development and maintenance of the GRC system including the development or integration of additional platforms that support Operational Risk Management activities.

  • To oversee the day-to-day ORM activities across the business, including:

    • Review and challenge Operational Risk information from local business units (“LBU”)

    • Review Operational Risk Management reporting pack (and underlying analysis) and present to the Group Risk committees and regular Group Senior Management meetings

    • To identify emerging risks and perform thematic reviews and provide recommendations

  • To be the trusted risk advisor to the business in the following key activities:

    • Strategic/ Business Plan process

    • Product development

    • Material initiatives/ projects

    • Regulatory / Rating Agencies reviews

    • Training and day-to-day support
       

  • Operational Risk Management to be integrated as part of the day-to-day business activities and be seen as value adding, relevant and professional.

  • To develop a strong relationship with Group Senior Management and local CROs, with positive feedback on Group ORM’s contributions and support.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor or Master Degree.

  • Minimum of 10 years’ experience in the Financial Services Industry, preferably within an operational risk management function.

  • In-depth knowledge of operations such as product development, customer service, policy administration, sales, project management, technology and technology implementations, regulatory compliance, etc.

  • Highly organized, results driven self-starter with excellent interpersonal, communication and influencing skills

  • Fluent in spoken and written English with ability to present articulately with appropriate level of gravitas
