Job Description

Supports the Supply Chain team in identifying and attracting talent to support SDL’s current project requirements as well as enable growth in key areas and the expansion of our service offering to clients.  Through tasks and projects, further develops communication/PR skills and builds experience in enabling technologies and tools.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operational Excellence – Provides general support in the recruitment and selection process to help ensure quality candidates for current projects.  For example, placing advertisements, contacting potential freelancers to encourage applications, processing applications, organizing tests and evaluations.  Helps to coordinate adding new translation vendors (e.g., assisting with the application process) to support the development of additional candidate streams.  May be involved in negotiating rates with new freelancers in line with SDL spend strategies.  Ensures efficient and accurate maintenance of data in the vendor database (e.g., language combinations, subject matter expertise).
  • Delivers Quality, Value, and Results – Supports on-boarding of freelancers by ensuring they understand SDL’s expectations and procedures so that they can perform their role effectively.  Improves turn-around time by tracking multiple leads and applications accurately and efficiently to enable quick retrieval.  Works with the team. Learns how to collect appropriate data in order to generate statistics that measure effectiveness of recruitment sources and methodology.  Promotes SDL’s brand and helps build SDL’s presence in the market.
  • Functional Excellence – Working with senior members of the team, learns about SDL Studio in order to promote to potential freelancers.  Supports the instruction/training of users on how to use the Vendor Database in the most effective way.  Actively informs in-house translation teams of new freelancers and promotes/monitors their active integration in live projects.
  • Relationship Building – Builds strong relationships with team/project team by actively contributing to team projects, taking initiative, and communicating effectively.  Builds external networks and relationships in order to promote the SDL brand.  Develops knowledge and awareness of SDL freelancers and the freelance community in the region to be able to advice on freelancers and pick up useful information and contacts for strengthening SDL’s supply chain.

Competences and Experience

  • Proficient EN speaker
  • Advanced verbal and written communication skills with an excellent telephone manner, with native DE level.
  • Ability to prioritize and to work to tight deadlines
  • Proactive and flexible approach, reliable and systematic
  • PC literate with good experience of MS Office, especially Word and Excel
  • Advanced knowledge of Internet searching
