Business & Investor Advisory Leader

Job Description

We are looking for an experienced infrastructure and project finance advisor to join our Hong Kong office to accelerate growth of our existing BIA platform. Reporting to our regional Advisory Leader, you will help to originate and execute projects that leverage the firm’s broad range of technical and commercial expertise to determine the feasibility of projects, structure transactions / deals to maximise market appeal, and advise both government and bid-side clients across Asia.

Responsibilities:

  • Grow Arup’s existing BIA platform in line with ambitions of the Regional Board
  • Take a significant role in identifying and pitching for infrastructure advisory, PPP advisory and project finance advisory projects across Asia
  • Support projects and pitches of other teams where financial advisory support is required
  • Build relationships with target clients, and taking primary responsibility for establishing and maintaining effective client management
  • Execute financial advisory projects, which will include leading cross-discipline teams to develop bespoke solutions for clients
  • Lead knowledge sharing initiatives and supporting the development of other team members
  • Identify and recruit additional skills into the team, and actively coach and develop junior staff
  • Travel across the region will be required

Qualifications and Experiences required:

  • Degree in a relevant field with postgraduate qualification, preferably in accounting or finance (e.g. CA, CPA, CFA, etc.) with financial modelling capability
  • Minimum 15 years of financial advisory experience, with the majority of this in corporate finance, project finance or related advisory disciplines
  • Demonstrated experience in structuring and advising on complex PPP transactions
  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams of individuals with disparate skill sets
  • Understanding of the market and bankability challenges associated with large scale infrastructure developments in Asia
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and PowerPoint
  • Proven problem-solving skills gained from working across a range of infrastructure sectors
  • Existing relationships with Asian-based multi-lateral agencies, government agencies and key infrastructure investors
  • Able to work autonomously in ambiguous situations and to adapt approach accordingly
  • Excellent communication skill and able to facilitate the development of long term client relationships
  • Proficiency in Asian languages is preferred
