The AstraZeneca IT function is undergoing significant transformation which will address performance, perception and profile.  The IT Transformation Programme will break the default outsourcing mentality, drive greater cohesion amongst senior IT leadership, begin the simplification of what has become an overly complex function and build a world class IT organization.

High Level Function and Role Overview

The Campus IT Infrastructure China team is responsible for managing and driving improvements in IT services that directly support our workforce in China. Ensures current and future IT services are delivered effectively through proactive customer engagement and effective communication. Delivers a rapid response to critical issues, and proactively drives initiatives to ensure a robust overall IT service.

The Campus IT lead role is to plan, organize, and manage staff and overall operations to ensure the stable operation of China’s IT infrastructure and all the end user services. This includes developing, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing key functional areas, particularly network infrastructure, server infrastructure, data communications, telecommunications systems, document output systems, AskIT service, meeting room facilities and services across R&D, Ops and commercial units. As the new offices will integrate with CCIC and iCampus, they are also under the support scope.

This role will work closely with the IT management team and business units to ensure alignment with business objectives. The candidate must have both leadership and technical skills to effectively and efficiently manage IT Infrastructure technologies, services and personnel.

The successful candidate will be able to operate independently and build strong relationships with key stakeholders, managing through competing requirements in a complex matrix environment. They will be a strong organizer with a collaborative mindset and enjoy working in a small team driving excellence across different local and global teams.

Key Accountabilities

• Engage with key stakeholders of Wuxi site like Ops IT Head, commercial middle region lead teams, CCIC and iCampus leaders to supply local infrastructure services for OPS sites, regional office, CCIC and iCampus park
• Manages all aspects of IT infrastructure services in scope through collaboration with both China central and global teams
• Implements a sustainable service model for all Infrastructure services deployed
• Prepare overall status and activity metrics that documents and tracks delivery of IT infrastructure services
• Manages the team to ensure they collaborate effectively with all IT colleagues and partners
• Manages service contracts with external partners
• Manages and forecasts budget regarding the operating expenses of IT infrastructure
• Manages and develops staff in multiple locations with the emphasis on coaching and mentoring
• Maintain contract of service/hardware partners, e.g. onsite service sourcing, printing service, AV devices, other end user devices.

Candidate Knowledge, Skills and Experience

Successful candidates will be required to demonstrate the following capabilities & skills:

Required:

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent
• Minimum 10 years of IT experience with 5 years of management experience preferred
• Must have business acumen and quick learning capability
• People management experience and skills
• Certifications in Microsoft/Cisco/VMware technologies are a requirement
• ITIL or PMI Certification is preferred
• Must have a strong technical knowledge of Microsoft technologies and network/Cisco technologies
• Must have a strong technical knowledge of virtualization
• Must have good understanding of user environment management, including laptops and mobile devices
• Must have a good familiarity with other IT Infrastructure technologies like storage, WAN acceleration etc.
• Must have proven management skills with the ability to mentor staff members
• Good people skills and the ability to interact and communicate effectively across all levels of the organization
• Good written and verbal skills, fluent English

Desired:

• Experience with pharmaceutical industry and especially in manufacture site is preferred
• Ability to work well in diverse, multinational teams
• Experience of managing change and methodologies
• Asset management experience
