How will you make an impact?
 
The Chemical Account Manager is responsible for achieving incremental sales growth of the Thermo Fisher Scientific Laboratory Chemicals products in target accounts and new business development accounts in the territory. The Chemical Account Manager must manage all aspects of the territory including account/segment selling, strategy development and execution, competitive intelligence gathering, new business development, and selling direct and through distribution partners.  The Chemical Account Manager will represent Thermo Fisher Scientific Laboratory Chemicals portfolio through the two Business Units; Laboratory Analytical Reagents (LAR) which include the brands Fisher Chemical, Fisher BioReagents, Affymetrics, and Thermo Scientific or Fine Chemical Products (FCP) Acros Organics, Alfa Aesar, and Maybridge to the industry in the territory, via their selling activity as well as involvement in technical seminars and industry organizations.  All available internal and external resources will be leveraged to creatively and aggressively grow our Chemicals business in the territory through multiple selling channels.
 
What will you do?             
 
  • Develop strategic and tactical sales plans to pursue aggressively incremental growth of our LAR and FCP businesses in the assigned territory.
  • Schedule and conduct formal sales activities, including capabilities-based presentations; focus groups; technical seminars; and new product launches to drive sales.
  • Represent and promote Laboratory Chemical Division’s value proposition at all levels within your accounts, and in the industry.
  • Provide market intelligence and appropriate detail regarding account sales position as requested.
  • Direct daily sales activities to ensure customer focus, prompt customer response, and customer follow-up where required.
  • Coordinate and interface with colleagues in Laboratory Chemical Division to develop appropriate synergies and to promote the growth of our overall Chemicals business.
  • Coordinate and engage with various levels of the distribution sales team- including managers, directors and local sales representatives.
  • Execute joint calls with distribution representatives as needed to provide sales and product training, and further technical sales activities.
  • Ability to take-on special projects upon request.
  • Utilize the CRM to maintain all territory activity, develop opportunities through a sales funnel and pipeline.
 
 
How will you get here?
 
  • You’ve earned at least a Bachelor’s degree.
  • You’re a sales professional with at least 3 to 5 years of experience.
  • You have a knowledge of the biotechnology, biopharmaceutical, chemical, laboratory distribution, and pharmaceutical industries
  • You have a technical background with some familiarity in bench testing and analysis applications, life sciences applications, and modern synthetic chemistry
  • You excel in building and managing relationships, positively affecting business growth.
  • You are highly analytical and utilize various tools to identify and take action on new sales opportunities.
  • You are a problem solver, focused on providing quality advice and exceptional customer solutions.
