Summary:
We are looking for an individual with extensive clinical laboratory experience and appropriate certifications in the Cytogenetics, Clinical Genetics or related fields using Microarray or Sequencing-based technologies. In this role, you will apply your clinical laboratory experience to educate and advise customers on Thermo Fisher Scientific genetic analysis products and serve as a central point of contact in the EMEA region for Support and Sales teams on topics relevant to clinical laboratories working within a changing regulated environment.
You will be working out of a home office in a location amenable to travel within EMEA. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious and dynamic individual to join a fast-paced global Life Sciences organization.
Responsibilities:
- Train and advise Support/Technical Sales Teams on how products are typically used and implemented within clinical laboratory settings
- Work closely with select customers within EMEA (Europe, Middle East, Africa) to facilitate familiarization and laboratory implementation of Microarray-based assays and technologies.
- Assist local account teams in pre- and post-sales activities.
- Participate in product development projects to advise on customer onboarding and implementation requirements
- Refer customers to current guidelines and best practices and publications in the fields of Cytogenetics, CNV/SNV analysis, Carrier Screening and Pharmacogenomics
- Work closely with Regulatory/Medical Affairs departments to educate Support teams on guidelines and best practices when responding to customer inquiries
- Collaborate with Technical Sales Specialists and regional Field Application Support to set up optimal strategy for customer sites
- Produce educational materials and conduct training for internal and external purposes.
- Develop, maintain, and manage interactions with Key Opinion Leaders (“KOLs”) from the Cytogenetics, Carrier Screening or Genetic Testing communities as well as other relevant healthcare professionals.
- Use CRM database to record activities
- Attend trade shows, user meetings and similar opportunities
Experience/Qualifications/Qualities that are important in this role
- Advanced graduate degree in Molecular Biology or Clinical Genetics, certification preferred.
- 5 or more years clinical laboratory experience in Microarray or Sequencing based technologies
- Familiarity with scientific and clinical trends and practices in Cytogenetics, Carrier Screening, or Pharmacogenetics
- Ability to understand and articulate complex scientific literature and use extensive complex clinical data as a key factor in the sales process
- Familiarity with regulatory requirements and ongoing changes in EMEA regions
- Written and oral fluency in English, additional languages a plus
- Excellent communication and influencing skills
- Ability to work effectively within a variety of cultural and regional settings
- Ability to work in a global matrix- based organizational structure
- Strong drive for success
- Willingness and ability to travel, as situation permits
