Maintenance Person I – Staff Services (Full Time Permanent)

As a Maintenance Person of Staff Services at Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge your care and attention to detail will ensure that our colleagues have a comfortable place to live in the Canadian Rockies.

Rate of Pay: Starting at $19.33 per hour.

What you will be doing:  

• Responsible for the maintenance and repair of all equipment and furnishings within the Fairmont Jasper Park Lodge Staff Area
• Responsible for responding to maintenance calls within the Staff area and helping out Hotel maintenance if necessary
• Responsible for preventative maintenance and work orders assigned
• Responsible for inspection and replacement of fire prevention equipment
• Respond to emergency/Fire alarm calls from Hotel that relate to the Staff area
• Responsible for safe conditions and safe operations of all equipment both permanent and portable for the requirements of their job
• Ensure that all work orders assigned will be completed with the least delay possible and to the standards of Fairmont Hotels & Resorts
• Some carpentry and minor painting required
• Plumbing and pipe repair
• Carpet laying and removal in small areas when necessary
• Adhering to the hotel’s vehicle handling and safety policies while driving hotel and guest vehicles
• Other duties as assigned

Your experience and skills include:

• Minimum 5 years maintenance experience required
• Practical experience in plumbing including, soldering and unclogging pipes
• High School/Technical School completed
• General knowledge and/or experience of most building trades
• Mechanical ability, including knowledge carpentry, plumbing and general maintenance
• Knowledge of locking hardware and how to cut keys
• Valid Alberta driver’s license required

• Walking: 4-8 hr/day
• Standing: 4-8 hr/day
• Bending/Reaching: 4-8 hr/day
• Pushing/pulling: 4-8 hr/day
• Physical Effort: does not lift weights more than 100 lbs., must be able to work from ladders, lifts and scaffolding
• Environmental Stress: busy atmosphere, working inside and outside

Visa Requirements: Must be legally eligible to work in Canada. The hotel is unable to assist candidates in obtaining Canadian work authorization.
